Question???

I guess that I have a question. I heard talk that we need to do a small reunion for the Hulda family. I would like to know how we are going to get this accomplished? We need a date...September 1, 2008 Labor Day? And a place to meet? Food? Activities etc. If we are going to do a reunion this summer we need to get this put together now. We are out of time. Or did I hear wrong. Let us know by leaving comments. Josh

I don't know if you are all getting these updates, but if you are, we need to hear from you.

I went to see g'ma today at 10:30, and she was still in bed. I very seldom find her up, unless I go at lunch time.

She is wearing out, and it is time for us to go see her if we want to see her this side of glory.

I ask how she is, and she always says, "I'm tired, and I hurt."

We could make it Labor Day, too, although the pool will probably be closed by then, I'm guessing. If we are going to meet on Labor Day weekend... Linda, I need your feedback on this idea: How would it be if Bernie and I furnished the meat and made the sloppy joes, made a simple fruit salad mix(with watermelon, cantaloupe, grapes, pineapple, etc.)and made deviled eggs? If you could furnish the potato salad or a macaroni salad, and baked beans? Or I could even make up a crockpot full of baked beans. I know that the gas price is going to gouge anybody who comes from a distance, and I hate to have to charge everybody for a catered meal in addition. We could make a cooler full of iced tea for drink. Maybe the weather will be okay to meet at the gazebo. I'm open to any ideas that work. Just so I know approximately how many are planning to come, and when.

Larry has that weekend off, so we would make plans to be there. If he didn't, Z & I would still be there. :D

Hey, Othie,
Sounds good to me. I'll be glad to bring whatever.

Now, we need to hear from the rest of the family.

Hey, I am going to try and post a comment on this blog.

I'm all for bringing a watermelon and games.

I'm sure if you put out a hat some people will make donations for the food or other expenses. If you spend money on food, you need to be honest and let the rest of us know what we need to contribute. Othie, your generosity is thoughtful.

Andrew and Sheryl can make it too. I believe we will be able to bring Ann and TJ with us but need to know if the other nieces and nephews will be coming. We juat saw Hulda this summer so we really want to see those of you we haven't seen in several years. We would love to meet JT and Sophie and Jake and all those other special little people out there.

I would like to respectfully request that we meet on either Saturday or Sunday. As an accountant I will absolutely have to work on Tuesday the 2nd, and so I would need to be able to travel back on Monday the 1st. Also, as a side note, Sep. 1st is Sarah's 7th birthday!- Amberley

I called the pool and they are open that weekend from 1-5. They charge $2.25 for adults, kids 6-12 are $1.25, and 5 and under are free. It is a really neat pool. In fact Sarah calls it the "water park"

We can't wait to see everyone. Paul and I will arrive on Saturday but we have to leave Sunday morning due to previous vacation plans at a ranch in Wyoming.

I will comment on this webpage again about where we are staying because it will be either at the Comfort Inn or Quality Inn in Colby but we would love to have dinner arrangements with whoever is in town or pool time with kids. We will bring our cell phones so we can make arrangements. Call this number 515-559-4541. Hope to see a bunch of cousins.
